This print is part of an ongoing study into the folk medicine of the Highlands. It explores the ways people turned to local plants for healing and reflects a time when knowledge of herbs and their protective, curative powers was woven into daily life.
This print features, Crios Cu Chulainn, Meadowsweet which was traditionally used for treating fevers and headaches, Slàn-lus, Ribwort Plantain which was used on cuts and abrasions and was said to stem bleeding quickly, Peasair nan Luch, Vetch, which was used as a balm for cuts and bruises and Raineach, Fern, which had many uses including being made into an ointment for burns. It was also given to people suffering from tuberculosis and spleen disorders.

This print is a digital collage made from two original artworks, a cyanotype print and an ink background and is printed on 300gsm textured Fresco Gesso paper. It comes unmounted and unframed.
Packaged in a protective sleeve with board backing as well as a board backed envelope for extra protection. The packaging is 100% eco-friendly and can be recycled or composted.
